ABOUT

John began his real estate career in 1989 with a St. Louis-based development company. His duties consisted of the identification, acquisition and development of commercial sites, requiring him to gain a comprehensive understanding of the regional commercial real estate market. John’s focus as part of the BARBERMURPHY team was originally on land acquisition and development for numerous retail, office and industrial clients, but he has successfully expanded his business to the representation of sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants of land, office, retail and industrial properties throughout Illinois. With more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, John not only serves as a broker for his clients, but more importantly, as a problem solver and trusted advisor. He represents numerous banks in their selling of real estate owned (REO) properties. He was also recently involved with the redevelopment of a prime property on Highway 50 in O’Fallon, Ill., which had Starbucks as its anchor tenant. As a member of the REALTOR Association of Southwestern Illinois, John has been recognized as a two-time recipient of the "Largest Commercial Transaction" award. He also has previously served as a board member of Millstadt Sportsmen Club and real estate board member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
