The City of Barstow is located in the Inland Empire North region of San Bernardino County, midway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Barstow offers all the major conveniences of small town living with the resources of major metropolitan areas only a short drive away. Barstow’s location allows for a 2-hour drive to Southern California’s beaches, one-hour drive to ski resorts in the nearby San Bernardino Mountains and hiking, camping and off-road adventures. Barstow is located within an hour and fifty-minute drive to Primm Nevada (Stateline) and less than two and a half hours from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Historical attractions include: Calico Ghost Town, the state’s official Silver Rush Ghost Town as designated by state legislation in July 2005. 1881 marked the beginning of one of the largest silver strikes in California history and the birth of Calico. “The Historic Harvey House", a landmark on the National Register of Historic Places, was designed by Francis Wilson and constructed by the Santa Fe Railroad in 1911.
