Whitney Rugg

Whitney “Whit” Rugg is a Broker Associate with MG Commercial Real Estate, where he focuses on office sales and leasing and advises clients across Rhode Island and the greater Providence market. Since joining MG in 2025, Whitney has supported a growing portfolio of office-related transactions, working with landlords, tenants, and investors on leasing strategy, site selection, renewals, expansions, and sale advisory—bringing a service-first mindset to every assignment. Before transitioning fully into commercial real estate, Whitney spent more than 20 years in fiduciary roles within banking and financial services. He is a graduate of St. George’s School and earned a B.A. in U.S. History from the College of Charleston. Whitney is deeply committed to community service and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Star Kids Scholarship Program for Newport/Fall River, continuing to support its mission. Outside of work, he is a competitive sailor with ten U.S. National Championships and is an active member of the New York Yacht Club and the Storm Trysail Club, where he also volunteers on the Race Committee. He resides in Middletown, Rhode Island with his wife and two children
