Todd Gates
A native of Virginia, Todd had been coming to Southwest Florida since 1969 and moved permanently to Naples in 1984. Since moving to Southwest Florida, he has been involved in the project management of such projects as The Ritz Carlton Hotel, The Registry Resort and The Naples Philharmonic Center of the Arts. Since 1995 Todd has been a principal of Gates McVey Builders, Inc. a Class "A" General Contracting firm specializing in commercial construction, including: hotels, office buildings, shopping centers, restaurants and medical facilities. In 1999, Todd, along with partners James McVey and Stephen Robison, established Gates McVey Capital Group - a fully licensed Commercial Development Company, Commercial Real Estate Company, Mortgage Company and Property Management Company. Todd is the immediate past president of the Collier Building Industry Association, the largest builder and development association in the state of Florida and was recently named 2003 Builder of the Year. Additionally, he is a current board of director for the Economic Development Council of Collier County as well as on the Board of Directors for the President’s Forum. He is active in the Naples Chamber of Commerce, helping to start the "Soaring with Eagles Program" aimed at the area’s numerous retired CEO’s and military leaders. He is the past Chairman of the Christian Chamber of Southwest Florida, serves as an Elder for the Moorings Presbyterian Church, is on the board of directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as on the board of directors for The Children’s Hospital of SW Florida and a board member for the CEO Cultural Advisory Board for the United Arts Council. Most recently, Todd was recognized as one of Gulfshore Life magazine’s 2003 men of the year.
