Tim was born and raised in Greenville. He graduated in 2005 from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Sport and Entertainment Management. While he attended USC, Tim was a member of the Gamecock Baseball Team and a part of Team Gamecocks where he joined other student athletes in mentoring elementary school students. After graduation he coached baseball both at Spartanburg High School and for the Columbia Blowfish. His last year before joining Bentley Commercial he was an assistant baseball coach at Furman University.
