Suzanne Cheek joined Duncan Commercial Real Estate in February 2019. She has been active in commercial real estate since 1987 and has most recently been with Horizon Commercial Realty. Cheek is experienced in both buyer and seller representation and has generated more than $100-million in land sales and acquisition, primarily out-lot, big box retail, commercial, residential and multi-family. She was named to Louisville Business First’s 2018 “20 People to Know in Real Estate” list. The list recognizes those who work behind the scenes to close big commercial deals and those developers who have greatly impacted the Louisville landscape. Cheek started her career in retail management with a national big-box chain and specialty-store chain and wanted a career change. Her first real estate job was with the developer of the StoneyBrook Shopping Center as a leasing agent. She viewed the retail management job as a great transition to real estate and was able to use her background as a retailer to relate to clients as she prospected and leased the shopping center. Cheek’s job description, in her own words: “I help companies find land to meet their expansion needs in the Louisville and surrounding markets and I assist landowners in monetizing their land holdings. I specialize in location intelligence and in finding and securing on and off market sites to meet client’s growth plans. I have been active in commercial real estate in Louisville and surrounding counties since 1987. My focus is land acquisition and sales across the spectrum: multi-family, retail, commercial and residential.”
