Steve Johnson
Steve Johnson is the president and founder of Johnson Commercial Development. He oversees all developments, sales, marketing, and operations. Steve founded Johnson Commercial Development in 1995 and oversees all aspects of development including property acquisitions, leasing, sales, financing, construction and operations. Johnson Commercial Development has been responsible for much of the growth in the Tri Cities Region, including Steve’s largest singular development project, The Pinnacle located at Exit 74 of Interstate 81 in Bristol, TN. With over $150 million in private investment, The Pinnacle opened up to the public in 2014, and is fast becoming the premier lifestyle shopping venue in the region. As Steve finalizes the development of The Pinnacle in Tennessee, preparations to commence an adjacent 300 acre sports and entertainment complex in Virginia that will further the impact of the Pinnacle in the region. Driven by a strong desire to give back to his community, Steve has numerous charitable interests. In 2004, Steve donated a building for the construction of the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Currently, Steve is a board member and generous supporter of the United Way of Bristol. In addition, Steve is still strongly connected to his Alma Mater, Virginia Tech. He is a member of the Ut Prosim Society, a select group of Virginia Tech’s most generous supporters and has contributed to the construction of a new practice field and the renovation of portions of the Merryman Athletic Facility. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Steve is a 1987 graduate of Virginia Tech and former NFL football player. Steve currently resides in Bristol with his son Steven. Steve’s oldest daughter, Paulena, is a graduate from Southern Methodist University and Steve’s youngest daughter, Lexi, is a sophomore at Virginia Tech. Steve’s hobbies include road racing, fishing, golf, and travel.
