Mr. Brashears is a co-owner and officer of Phillips Martin Real Estate, Inc. and President of Phillips Martin Management, Inc. He founded Phillips Martin Partnership with James McGinn in 1983 to develop two multi-story residential communities consisting of 272 units in Naperville and 82 units in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Additionally, Phillips Martin developed 162 East Superior in Chicago and has secured debt and equity to acquire various properties through limited liability corporations. Mr. Brashears was elected as a General Partner of BB&A Venture after acting as President and Secretary of National Realty and Investment Company from 1991 to 2013. He first accepted a nomination to National Realty’s Board of Directors in 1985. National Realty maintained interests in various agricultural and commercial properties including the Drake Hotel Chicago which National Realty owned and operated for over 40 years until executing an unsubordinated, reversionary ground lease in 1979. As he did prior to lease termination, Mr. Brashears continues to act as Trustee and General Partner of BB&A Venture, owner of the Drake Hotel in Chicago. After attending Cornell University, Brashears left the hotel business to participate in the development, lease up and management of the Drake Oak Brook Office Plaza in 1979. He later represented National Realty’s Joint Venture Interest with Traveler’s Insurance Company and sold the 250,000 Sq. Ft. office building to the Illinois Municipal Worker’s Pension Fund for $40 Million in 1990. Mr. Brashears is the Managing Broker of Phillips Martin Real Estate and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Montana. As General Partner for BB&A Venture, Phillips Martin Management is proud to represent 80 plus years of ownership in Chicago's Drake Hotel.
