Shannon Powell

A Lubbock native, Shannon Powell joined NAI Wheelhouse’s leasing and brokerage team in 2021. Her journey has been filled with working with people all over the world and in multiple areas whether it is in the political spectrum, restaurant industry, or with middle school and high school students. She loves hearing people’s stories, their vision for their future, and helping them achieve their goals. In 2001, she graduated with high honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in communication studies. She spent time working in politics for the Texas Conservative Coalition, then moved to Scotland to work in the restaurant industry. She felt a calling into education and taught public speaking to middle school students in Houston, TX. During that time, she attended Sam Houston State University to obtain her master’s degree in counseling. This led to a 13 year stretch of working as a high school counselor focused on the mental and emotional health, academic development, and career and college pursuits of each student. Shannon is married to Rev. Elliott Powell, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church here in Lubbock. Together, they have three children. When Shannon is not working, she is driving her kids to dance or soccer practice, leading Bible studies through her church, attending Texas Tech football games, barbecuing with her extended family, and looking for the next great place to travel to.
