Robin currently works for Greenfield, a full service economic development consulting firm for buyers, sellers and allies in the business of business locations. They help state, regional and local development organizations recruit businesses, and they help businesses choose locations. Robin has spent equal time on all three sides of the economic development business during her 40 year career – as a community recruiter selling industrial locations, as an owner buying industrial properties, and as a site selection consultant comparing communities for industrial locations. Because of her background in site selection, Robin has worked on projects in over thirty-five (35) states, giving her a very broad knowledge of the economies of many different communities, and their strengths and weaknesses. Robin and business partner Mary Lilley have been working together as Greenfield since 1999. Prior to Greenfield, Robin was Vice President of Marketing and Project Development for Cogentrix Energy, an independent power producer, where for 10 years she developed gas and coal-fired power plant projects across the US. Prior to Cogentrix, Robin was the local developer for the Edgecombe County Development Corporation. During her six years there, she worked on projects which created over $250 million of investment and more than 2000 jobs. Robin started her career at J. E. Sirrine Company, a major national engineering firm, where she was a research assistant and later project planner providing site selection consulting for large process industries.
