Robert McDonnell

Robert G. McDonnell, a 30 year industry veteran, serves as HUNT Commercial’s fifth President since the company’s founding in 1911 by Charles S. Hunt. While he joined HUNT Commercial in 2019, his history with the organization started years earlier. He was originally recruited to HUNT Commercial in the early 1990s, where he learned the complexities of the business with the help of a team of seasoned and experienced brokers, including then-Chairman of the Board, C. Stuart Hunt and then-president Stephen N. Hunt. His initial experience at HUNT helped him transition to a 20+ year career with a large multi state commercial real estate developer. Robert is highly versed in all disciplines of commercial real estate with a special focus on business development and operations, contract negotiations, financial analysis, property management, construction and corporate consulting. To date, he has been involved in over 450 real estate transactions with a total value in excess of $1.5 billion dollars with a recent focus on large office and multi-family investment complexes throughout the east coast. Notable clients include KeyBank, Northwest Bank. National Property Management Associates, Edwards Ltd, Atlas Copco Group, Independent Health, Lippes Mathias and Cannon Design. As President of HUNT Commercial, Robert is responsible for the overall management, strategic initiatives, business development, and multi-state growth of the commercial real estate organization, including the commercial property management arm, HUNT Property Solutions. Robert is a graduate of St. Francis H.S., John Carroll University and received his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2010. Robert is the proud father of Lillian and Amelia. He resides in Hamburg, NY with his wife Karen and their dogs, Penelope and Louis.
