ABOUT

Designations: GRI, RENE, AHWD, Texas Historic House Specialist. SPECIALTY: Residential / Commercial Sales & Leasing Robert’s expertise in sustainable design, architecture, and urbanism as well as his in-depth knowledge of Austin’s radical transformations over the past 40 years, make him the ideal partner in finding your next living space, office space, or assisting you in property investment. Robert combines a sophisticated design understanding with deep roots as a Texas native to offer invaluable resources and insights for real estate in the Lonestar State. He grew up swimming in Barton Springs in Austin, eating his grandmother’s traditional Tejano cuisine in New Braunfels, and playing golf in Lufkin. His personal experience growing up in Austin and East Texas have given him a one-of-a-kind perspective on the state’s diverse history and culture, leading to a full understanding of the state’s ongoing urban and rural transformations. Robert comes to real estate with a background in urban geography and commercial real estate investment. His expertise is in architecture, urban design, and city transformations. In fact, he worked 10+ years as a professor at elite universities in the United States and in Europe, teaching students the ways in which American cities socially, economically, and environmentally function. He is the author of the award-winning book, “The Taco Truck: How Mexican Street Food is Transforming the American City.” Now back in his hometown of Austin, Robert is balancing teaching urban geography at UT with his commercial real estate investment company, Texas Triple Net. When he’s not working in real estate or teaching undergraduates, Robert is eating his way across Austin, playing the drums, wrestling with his dog, or is out on the golf course pursuing his passion of striking a little white ball across the landscape. Robert holds master degrees in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from The University of California, Berkeley, and in City Planning from The Ohio State University. He also earned a doctorate in Urban Geography from The University of Texas at Austin. Robert believes continuing education is essential to maintaining the highest level of expertise and successful decision making in real estate. He has advanced designations as a NAR Member, including the GRI, RENE, AHWD, Texas Historic House Specialist, and is currently completing his CCIM.
