A veteran of the New Jersey industrial and commercial real estate market, Rick brings over 32 years of industry experience to Blau & Berg. Prior to joining Blau & Berg, Rick served as Vice President of leasing and sales at Hartz Mountain, assisting the marketing and leasing of Hartz's 25 million square-foot warehouse and industrial portfolio.. Rick began his real estate career in 1992, working on the acquisition and development of a 100-acre business park. In the years since, he has managed leasing, development, or acquisition activity for a diverse portfolio of properties, including retail, office, industrial, lab, and high-tech. His industrial expertise has resulted in upwards of 40 million square feet of space leased, developed, or acquired in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, and South Carolina. He is a highly motivated, well-established, and respected real estate professional. Prior to Hartz, Rick served as the Regional Manager and Marketing/Leasing Director for First Industrial Realty Trust, where he handled all leasing, acquisition, development, redevelopment and disposition activity for NJ. Rick implemented strategic regional leasing initiatives and executed new and renewal leasing in excess of 5,000,000 sq feet with an aggregate value greater than $202M. He assisted in the acquisition of 860,000 sq feet with an aggregate value of $96M. During his tenure at Federal Business Centers, a niche developer, based in Edison, NJ. Rick served as Director of Acquisitions and Development. He was involved in acquisitions, dispositions leasing, and development. He also assisted with the creation and implementation of the master development plan for a 100-acre business park. Rick served as Director of Economic Development for the city of Paterson, NJ where he developed and implemented an economic vision and programs designed to stimulate growth within the city by encouraging businesses to create private sector jobs through public and private investment. A member of the Board of Trustees of the NJ Chapter of NAIOP, Rick also serves on the Education Committee, is an active memeber in the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and a former adjunct professor of real estate at New York University. Appointed by the NJ COmmissioner of Banking, Rick serves on the NJ Real Estate Advisory Commission Committee.
