Richard Sung

Mr. Sung joined Newmark in 2020 as a Managing Director in the Orange County California office. He is widely recognized for his expertise in representing Occupiers and Owners in complex leasing, acquisition, and disposition transactions. Practicing corporate real estate since 2011, Mr. Sung has demonstrated exceptional proficiency across various professional sectors, including foreign companies, architectural firms, technology, healthcare, and financial services. During his tenure, Mr. Sung has facilitated numerous multimillion-dollar transactions, showcasing his exceptional negotiation skills and comprehensive understanding of the market. He has successfully worked with owners of diverse portfolios, ranging from boutique creative office spaces to institutional-grade properties with deal volumes closing in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Prior to Newmark, Mr. Sung lead the leasing team at WindWater Real Estate, a vertically integrated real estate company specializing in creative office repositioning, leasing, and eventual disposition. Mr. Sung spent the earlier part of his career as an Associate at ORION Property Partners, Inc. where he represented some of the best in class institutional landlords in the Orange County market. Mr. Sung’s dedication to his profession extends beyond his work. He maintains a deep involvement with the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and currently serves on the board of directors for the NAIOP Southern California Chapter. Through his active engagement, he continues to shape and influence industry practices and standards. Originally hailing from Huntsville, Alabama, Mr. Sung now resides in Tustin, California, with his wife and two daughters. His cultural fluency extends to Mandarin Chinese, further expanding his ability to connect with a diverse clientele.
