Rich’s vast experience and internal leadership with leading a real estate department for a powerful ensemble of retail brands or consulting for developers, tenants, and landlords is unparalleled in the retail real estate industry. Rich’s expertise has made him a sought-after consultant, partner, guest lecturer, and advisor. Prior to launching Odyssey Retail Advisors, Rich assisted Crown Acquisitions in the planning, leasing and merchandising of the retail space at the Wynn Las Vegas, wherein the span of 12 months he led the lease up of an 80,000 square foot expansion. Rich has consulted for brands such as Burberry, Stella McCartney, Zimmermann, Away and many others. In addition to the Wynn, Rich has worked with owners and developers including URW, Brookfield, Madison Marquette and WS Development as well as Tishman Speyer for a reimagining of the iconic Rockefeller Center. Prior to consulting, Rich was recruited by Kering (then known as PPR), for a newly created role as Head of Real Estate – Americas. In this role, he oversaw the group’s portfolio of real estate throughout North and South America, performing all site selection, market research and negotiation for the entire portfolio of brands, including Gucci, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta. In addition to retail, the role included servicing the group’s office and industrial real estate needs, and most importantly, finding savings through oversight and maintenance of the real estate portfolio. Prior to Kering, Rich was a practicing real estate attorney and then a consultant at a boutique tenant representation firm, assisting a variety of retail clients including Vince, Lacoste, and Crocs, throughout the US and Canada, in a wide variety of formats. Rich is a member of the New York State Bar, with a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. in History from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, has lectured at the NYU Schack Conference on Capital Markets in Real Estate and is a frequent guest lecturer at Fordham School of Law. He lives on Long Island with his wife and three kids and has recently started training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu after a 20+ year hiatus.
