ABOUT

Ray Allison is a Houston-based commercial real estate broker, advisor, and transaction manager with more than four decades of experience representing owners, investors, developers, tenants, institutions, acquisition groups, and owner-users across a broad range of commercial real estate assignments. His career began in the early 1980s working alongside family and business partners in property acquisition, management, development, and construction-related activities. That early exposure to every stage of the real estate process established the practical, solution-oriented approach that continues to define his work today. In the early 1990s, Ray founded Ray Allison, Realtors® in Houston’s Montrose area. In 2003, he partnered with longtime colleague Mike Spear to form AllisonSpear.com, Realtors® in River Oaks. The firm was subsequently acquired by Prudential Gary Greene Realtors®, where Ray managed the company’s Inner Loop office before being selected to launch and lead its Commercial Real Estate Division. Over the course of his career, Ray has participated in transactions ranging from local owner-user assignments to corporate leasing, investment acquisitions and dispositions, redevelopment opportunities, institutional-quality transactions, and complex multi-party negotiations. His experience includes landlord representation, tenant representation, office, industrial, retail and land transactions, investment analysis, transaction management, and strategic advisory services. Today, through Ray Allison, Realtors®, he advises landlords, tenants, investors, acquisition groups, developers, and business owners throughout the Houston region and beyond. His practice includes commercial leasing, corporate and institutional leasing assignments, investment sales, investment acquisitions, owner-user opportunities, redevelopment projects, and transactions requiring local market expertise, coordination, and execution. Clients value Ray’s ability to bring clarity, perspective, and organization to complicated assignments involving multiple stakeholders, competing objectives, changing circumstances, and long timelines. His approach emphasizes practical solutions, thoughtful negotiation, transaction management, and long-term relationship building. In addition to his brokerage career, Ray has remained active in civic and charitable organizations. He has served as Board Chair of the Downtown YMCA of Greater Houston, President of the Plumeria Society of America, and has supported numerous community initiatives throughout his career. Since 2009, he has also served as a Lector at Houston’s Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Ray is also the author of an ongoing collection of personal essays exploring people, place, memory, and the unexpected lessons found in everyday encounters.
