ABOUT

Randy Atkins has an extensive history of successfully representing the users of commercial real estate whether they prefer to lease or own, regardless of their industry category. Randy’s specialty however is in the representation of CRE users who wish to acquire, develop and/or add value to land or commercial buildings through re-development, entitlement, repurposing or repositioning. Randy is a tested and proven advocate for his clients and, through the art of listening to and understanding their needs and objectives, has been successful in helping those clients marry their facilities plans to their business plans. Through a long process of learning the intricacies of the commercial real estate industry and his market, Randy continues to transfer that knowledge to the benefit of his clients and their respective business objectives. For more than two decades prior to joining Savills in 1993, Randy was focused on the CRE development side of the industry and, as vice president in charge of leasing, sales and marketing for national and regional firms, helped put in place more than 5 million square feet of office and industrial building space in over a dozen business parks in the Washington D.C. Metro area. Prior to that time he held senior economic development positions in state and county governments and for eight years owned and operated a commercial real estate development, construction and consulting company. Randy served as chairman of the NAIOP Northern Virginia chapter in 2006 and is currently a member of its executive committee. He is also a board member that previously served as vice chairman of the Virginia Association for Commercial Real Estate and was a long-time member of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance board of directors. He is currently president of the Gov. Paul Hamilton Chapter, South Carolina Society, Sons of the American Revolution, and is active in community and civic organizations including Beaufort Yacht & Sailing Club in which he has served as commodore and chairman of its board or directors. During his NAIOP chairmanship, in collaboration with other NAIOP members, he helped create and invested in the now highly successful George Mason University Center for Real Estate Entrepreneurship which offers a Master of Science in real estate development.
