Advised Board of Directors on all legal issues and real estate development. Oversaw and negotiated the purchase of over $35 million and the sale of over $30 million in hotel, office, and raw land assets. Responsible for negotiating terms and specifics of over $190 million in loans with eight different national and regional lending partners. Coordinated franchise license agreement negotiations with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG. Managed pre-development and entitlement process for ten hotel developments, including successful rezoning applications in Charlotte, Cary, and Durham. Successfully appealed real estate tax assessments in counties across Virginia & the Carolinas, saving over $240,000. Monitored and coordinated spending with outside counsel. Led diversification initiative by identifying sites for future multi-family and self-storage development, collected due diligence information, and performed underwriting of future development opportunities.
