Michael Smith

Michael Smith is an associate vice president in Northmarq’s Charlotte office where he focuses primarily on multi-tenant retail investment sales with a focus on the Southeast. Michael advises both private clients and small to mid-sized funds in the acquisition and disposition of multi-tenant retail assets. With over $100 million in completed transactions, Michael has gained expertise in unanchored and anchored retail centers in the Southeast. Michael is a team-oriented real estate professional with a proven track record of success. He and his team are known for their deep grasp of the market, long-term approach with each of their clients and detailed analysis and execution. Before Northmarq, Michael helped start the shopping center team at Sands Investment Group, where he was recognized each year for being one of the top brokers and leaders in the company. Outside of work, Michael is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys spending time sailing, scuba diving, hiking, hunting and fishing; as well as spending time with his wife and two children. Michael graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
