Michael D. Poulos is a native of Evanston, Illinois, and he lived for a few years as a child in the United States Virgin Islands. He graduated from Evanston Township High School and went on to Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in three years majoring in English. Mr. Poulos attended Loyola Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar on October 30, 1980, two weeks after turning 24. He opened his own practice that day. In 1982 he incorporated his practice as Michael D. Poulos, P.C. In 2011 he formed a new firm, Poulos Black P.C. Mr. Poulos is a member of the American, Illinois, and Chicago Bar Associations, the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, and the American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP). He is a member of the Illinois Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He served on the CBA Election Law Committee.
