Michael is a proud eighth-generation Texas native, over the last four decades Michael has split his time between Colorado and Texas. After serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for American Beverage Co. in San Antonio, Michael joined the startup brewery New Belgium Brewing Co. in Fort Collins, CO as the Director of Sales, and Marketing for the Southwest Region. Michael joined Team Murphy Realty in 2006. Michael has 16 years of real estate experience. He has earned extensive knowledge in Colorado water issues and water rights, conservation easements, and wildlife management, and offers an impeccable work ethic. Michael’s early days of owning restaurants and becoming a French-trained chef give him valuable business insight, which he loves to pass on to his clients who are looking to start their new dreams. Michael is an avid fly tier and fly fisherman. This knowledge of fishing and the art of tying flies crosses over in his recreational ranch sales, giving his clients valuable insight into the recreational ranch world. Michael takes immense pride in his work as a former Lake City Town Trustee, former Chair of the Hinsdale County Marketing Committee, and former Board of Director for the Hinsdale County Chamber. Currently, Michael is Chairman of the Hinsdale County Lodging Tax Board and has a seat on the Gunnison Basin Roundtable representing Hinsdale County. Michael’s passion for Colorado’s land, water, and rural way of life has led him to his involvement with Club 20 with its vision of maintaining and protecting the rural way of life. Michael is heavily involved in Club 20, currently, he is the Hinsdale County Representative and will be the incoming Chair. He also sits on the Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors, is Chairman of the Telecommunications Committee, and is a member of the Club 20 advisory council for Business Affairs Committee. Michael also is one of the main sponsors of the Agriculture and Public Lands Committee. Michael has invested many years with Club 20 and will continue to do so in the hopes of further helping the rural way of life and Colorado values.
