Michael Azarian is a Managing Director with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. Retail Services, where he leads his team representing institutional and private landlords across New York City, along with a diverse portfolio of national, international and local tenants. Current clients include Georgetown Co., Savanna Fund, Morgan Stanley, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Property Partners Group, Genesis Brand Management, Serafina Restaurant Group, Mezeh Mediterranean Inc., Johnston & Murphy, Door Dash, CVS Specialty Pharmacy, and H&R Block. Michael’s experience with his clients ranges from single unit leasing on up through multi-unit transactions. He focuses on curating a diverse retail landscape with an assortment of top amenities for his landlords, securing strategic locations across multiple markets for his tenants along with managing the renewal and relocation process. Michael began his commercial real estate career at Massey Knakal Realty Services, initially specializing in mid-market investment sales in New York City. Throughout his tenure as a sales agent, Michael received four promotions in under six years, and facilitated and aggregate sales value of approximately $1.1 billion. His most notable sales transaction is The Bowery Portfolio, a package of 11 mixed-use buildings which was nominated as one of five finalists for the Real Estate Board of New York’s Most Ingenious Deal of the Year. In 2012, Michael transitioned his focus to start up a new retail division at Massey Knakal and was promoted to Director of the Midtown South territory. He and his division were incredibly successful within a relatively short period, expanding the platform to 20 agents in under two years. In 2013, the division was ranked the Third Largest Landlord Representation Firm based on transaction volume in New York City. In December 2014, Massey Knakal was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield, and Michael quickly integrated with North America’s top retail firm where he is now proud to call home. Michael has leased well over a million square feet with a leasehold value of nearly $1.5 billion across New York City and the US.
