Matthew Covington

Responsibility on the Team Matthew E. Covington serves as a member of the Retail Group, specializing in site acquisition, tenant representation, and sale of commercial properties. Career Summary Matt is a native of the South Carolina Upstate and has been working in the commercial real estate industry since 1997. He was hired out of college into the Asset Management Division of Grubb & Ellis | The Furman Co., and after focusing on landlord/tenant relations and the operation of income properties, subsequently made the transition into transaction services. While in brokerage, Matt has been involved in transactions with clients including First Citizens Bank, Wachovia Bank, Nevada Bob's Golf, State Farm Insurance and Beef O'Brady's Restaurant. Education Matt received a BS in Financial Management from Clemson University, with a concentration in Real Estate and Capital Structures. He is actively pursuing the CCIM designation, and has successfully completed the Grubb & Ellis University Foundations for Success program. Professional Courses, Affiliations, Interests Matt is married, enjoys college athletics and is an avid golfer. He is very active in his local Clemson University alumni chapter and the Greenville Literacy Association. Matt is also involved with the local International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) chapter.
