Matt Ashbaugh
Matt is a Partner at Bandera Ventures and specializes in developments and acquisitions.
Matt Ashbaugh joined Bandera Ventures as a Partner in September 2021. The Partners have over 140 years’ experience in commercial real estate development in excess of 62 million square feet of development and acquisitions throughout the United States and Canada. Bandera’s real estate development expertise includes office, industrial, retail, medial, data centers, and build-to-suit projects. From 2014 to 2021, Matt was part of Hines’ New York development team, most recently serving as a Managing Director overseeing the development of One Madison ($2.3B project). While at Hines, Matt also served as portfolio manager of the 12-building, 5.8 million SF Hudson Square Portfolio, managed the financial aspects of One Vanderbilt ($3.3B project), and coordinated new business activities for the New York Office. Matt earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2014. Prior to graduate school, Matt served in roles with Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Funds, growth equity firm Cotton Creek Capital, and The Boston Consulting Group. Matt is a graduate of The University of Texas, where he earned a BA in Plan II Honors and a BBA in Business Honors/Finance and was active in Texas Cowboys. Matt lives in Dallas with his wife Ashley and children Avery and Charlie.
