Margaret Borja

Mrs. Borja joined Newport Capital Partners in 2016 and is a Vice President on the Accounting team and the Firm’s Assistant Controller. In this capacity, she has oversight of NCP’s property, fund, and investor accounting and reporting functions. Additionally, she has management responsibilities of the accounting team and assists the CFO with corporate accounting and compliance requirements. Ms. Alikpala has over nine years of real estate experience. Prior to joining Newport Capital Partners, Ms. Alikpala was a Supervisor at RSM US LLP and a consultant for The John Buck Company. Ms. Alikpala's primary responsibilities included accounting and reporting in fair value, IFRS, and U.S. GAAP for corporate and real estate fund clients. Ms. Alikpala has experience on a variety of real estate types including subsidized housing, multifamily residential, office, and commercial. She is an expert in real estate consolidation and transaction accounting, and property accounting. Ms. Alikpala began her career with Lincoln Property Company and Prairie Management and Development as a senior accountant. She holds a BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
