Kenneth Starr

Kenneth's journey into winemaking began in 1952, learning the craft at his father's side. His passion deepened during his service with the USAF in the early 1960s, when he visited numerous wineries across Europe and developed a profound appreciation for the German style of winemaking. Kenneth honed his skills crafting wine from 1966 to 1977, and in 1994, he acquired property in Curwensville where he planted his first 12 vines — laying the foundation for what would become Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery, a recognized Clearfield County tourism destination.
