John Roberts

His responsibilities include brokerage activities, business development, acquisitions, marketing, and tenant relations. Prior to joining Freedom in September of 2022, John served as the Business Retention & Expansion Director for the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber. In that role, he managed economic development projects, site selection, incentive programs, and industry relations. During his tenure, the economic development team helped recruit and grow more than 4,000 new jobs and $3 billion worth of investment in the Huntsville Madison County area. His experience also includes government affairs & workforce development with the Huntsville Madison County Builders Association. He is a co-founder of the North Alabama Homebuilding Academy, a free workforce development school that gives individuals the foundational skills to begin a career in the construction trades. John serves on the Board of Directors for Free 2 Teach and the North Alabama Red Cross. He is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville C-21 and is active with the University of Alabama’s Blackburn Institute. John also has an interest in politics and was a candidate for U.S. Congress in Alabama’s Fifth Congressional District in 2022. John is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration.
