John Hurley
John has over 17 years of entrepreneurial experience in tech. He co-founded his first tech business at 22, Webexcellence, where he served as president. Webexcellence grew to become the largest web development firm in Indianapolis and had a client roster of names including Delco Remy, Angie’s List and the NCAA, among others. During this same period, John had the amazing opportunity to work with the original founders of ExactTarget creating the first software versions of their email platform. In 2009 John co-founded SmartFile, a file management platform. SmartFile currently serves over 1,400 business and enterprise customers and 5,400 developers in over 80 countries. As the CEO, he helps guide the strategic vision as well oversee sales and marketing. John's most recent endeavor is the visionary and managing partner in The Union 525. The Union 525 is a one-of-a-kind tech venue providing a flexible office platform for education, startups and growth companies in downtown Indianapolis. Phase I is fully occupied in a 125,000 Sq. Ft. facility that is home to Purdue Polytechnic H.S., Rose Hulman, IU, Lilly, Launch Indy, and some of the most promising tech scale-up companies in the state.
