
Mr. Gortmaker oversees all aspects of Brookside’s multi-family operations and supervises group managers of the individual properties. He holds a Master’s Degree in History from Dallas Theological Seminary and the designation of a Certified Property Manager by the Institute of Real Estate Management. He has managed multifamily real estate investments for twenty years in eighteen states. He worked for major regional and national companies and his portfolio includes A, B, and C class properties with many involving extensive apartment rehabilitation. He has served as president of both the Nashville Apartment Association and the Tennessee Apartment Association. He has produced and taught numerous training and marketing programs for residential management, and has been actively involved in industry legislative work at both the state and federal levels with TAA, NAA, and IREM. He holds a Tennessee Associate Broker’s Real Estate License. He is married and the proud father of 1 son and 2 daughters and has 5 grandchildren.
