Jay Taylor

John W. “Jay” Taylor, Jr., CCIM, serves as Managing Director of SVN Tar Heel Commercial Realty in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prior to re-affiliating with SVN in 2012, Taylor served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Tar Heel Companies of North Carolina. Jay has over 20 years of diverse commercial real estate experience and focuses his practice primarily in the areas of income producing investment properties and raw land in the Triangle and eastern North Carolina. He has facilitated hundreds of sales and lease transactions with total volume valued in well in excess of $200 million and is annually recognized as a top producer within the SVN organization. As an active member of the commercial real estate community in North Carolina, Taylor holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM) and served on the NC-CCIM Board of Directors from 2009-2016 (2015 President); is a member of the National Association of Realtors and North Carolina Association of Realtors; is an active member of the Triangle Chapter of The Urban Land Institute; has served on the NC-RLI Board of Directors and is a member of the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors. Taylor is also involved in his community, most notably through volunteer work for the YMCA of the Triangle, where he has chaired multiple boards. He also serves on various fundraising and ad hoc committees for the YMCA. Other organization affiliations include serving as a member of the Trustees for Edenton Street United Methodist Church and House Corp chair for the NC Alpha Chapter of SAE fraternity at NC State. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Business minor from North Carolina State University. In addition, he is a licensed general contractor in the state of North Carolina.
