Jamie is a former partner with Task Realty Group Limited, merging his firm with Cushman & Wakefield in 2001. He has been an active member of a number of benevolent organizations including Symphony NS fundraising committee, The Lung Association, Halifax Central Junior High SAC Committee, President of the John W. MacLeod Parent Teacher Association and as a facilitator with Restorative Justice for Youth.
