Jim Gearen is one of the founding members of Zeller Realty Group and currently leads the investment arm of the organization. As President of Zeller Realty Corporation, Jim has engaged in property acquisition, leasing and project development activities. In 1992, Jim relocated to Minnesota to direct the firm's activities in the Twin Cities. Between 1992 and 2011, Jim focused on marketing the portfolio's Twin Cities properties while overseeing Zeller Realty Group’s leasing efforts on the entire portfolio. In addition, Gearen has personally closed over 1,000 leases totaling over 8 million square feet with an aggregate value in excess of three-quarters of a billion dollars; this includes representing Wells Fargo in its acquisition of Honeywell Corporation’s 958,000 square foot headquarters campus, one of the largest tenant representations ever in the Twin Cities. Prior to joining Zeller Realty Group, Gearen was a broker with Scribner & Co. in Chicago. He specialized in Tenant Representation and the leasing and sales of office buildings in downtown Chicago. Prior to joining Scribner, Gearen worked for the Minneapolis office of CB Richard Ellis. Gearen is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, where he earned his BA in Political Science. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of St. Thomas and as Chair of the Board’s Physical Facilities Committee. Past board memberships include: Aspen Research Corporation, Chair of the Board for the Center of Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas, Business Volunteers for the Arts, Ray-Vogue College of Design, House, Nezerka & Froelich, P.A., The Great American History Theatre and Trinity School at River Ridge. Gearen is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Minnesota and a member of NAIOP as well as the National Association of Realtors. Gearen has been ranked as one of the top commercial realtors in Minnesota by Twin Cities Business Journal. In the year 2000, Gearen was named one of Twin Cities Business Journal's “40 Under 40.”
