James Barton

With over 30 years of hands-on commercial real estate experience, Jim Barton provides corporate and industrial tenants alike a plethora of advisory services for any number of transactions, whether they be acquisitions and dispositions or lease restructures and subleases. Jim has worked with distinguished clients throughout Orlando and across the country in numerous fields such as banking, defense contracting, healthcare, legal, life insurance, manufacturing, software and beyond. Prior to joining Savills in 2013, Jim worked with JLL where he was responsible for leasing over 3.2 million square feet of real estate for institutional and corporate property owners including Hartford Insurance, Florida Office Property Company, Texas Teachers Retirement System and Lend Lease. His acute understanding of landlord motivations and leverage points provides his clients with a clear advantage at the negotiation table. Additionally, Jim spearheaded the $4 million renovation of Eola Park Centre in 2000, which converted a 1969 Class C building into a competitive Class A office project and was awarded the ‘Golden Brick Award’ by the Downtown Orlando Partnership, as well as ‘The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY)’ award by BOMA in 2001.
