ABOUT

Graig has 38+ years of full-time experience in real estate with a large, highly diverse range of transactions. He grew up in Las Vegas, attended the University of Texas at Austin, and worked in urban planning which introduced him to development. He quickly migrated to a career in real estate which began in Las Vegas. He gained experience in just about every area of real estate including residential, land, retail, office, and industrial sales and leasing; development; investment sales; farm and ranch; and independent fee-based consulting. Other specialties include hospitality, water rights, re-development, governmental work, and real estate requiring a privileged license (gaming, cannabis, pawn/reuse, petroleum and energy), and entitlements. He is an experienced developer with projects in retail, industrial, land, infrastructure, redevelopment, and is a partner/advisor for AK Development in Northern Utah completing the purchase, full rehab, and sale of over 25 properties. AK was awarded Developer of the Year by the Salt Lake Home Builders Association for their work bringing older properties back to life. He has worked as a broker, developer, investor, and real estate office owner and manager, completing nearly $4 billion in personal transactions, including averaging over $100 million for 20 consecutive years. He handled the properties in Las Vegas area for the Resolution Trust Corporation during the S&L crisis and served as a consultant during the Great Recession for several asset management companies and banks. During that time, he has completed over 300 work-outs and mediations involving real estate and advised on over $100 billion in asset transference. Graig holds the SIOR designation, is a licensed CE instructor in Utah and Nevada. In addition to Spark, he owns Protego Commercial Property Management and Affinitas Consultancy, a legacy planning firm offering real estate advisory services to wealth/financial managers, attorneys, tax professionals, private bankers, and family offices. Graig also founded the Pathfinder Institute with a former chief instructor for the Navy SEALs. Pathfinder is a private training and coaching company serving the real estate industries, college and professional athletics, pre-deployment military, post incarceration individuals, and other corporate clients. Within this mix, Graig has completed over $1 billion in non-traditional transactions such as syndication, Delaware Statutory Trusts, fractional ownership, joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and capital stack structuring.
