Gary Hubbell is a Colorado rancher, real estate broker, and auctioneer with wide-ranging experience in ranches, hunting properties, luxury homes, orchards and vineyards, mountain land, recreation properties, horse properties, homes with acreage, and small farms. Gary has sold properties in all corners of Colorado, from hay farms in Rocky Ford and La Junta, to outfitting businesses in Granby, to hunting ranches bordering Dinosaur National Park in the far northwest corner of the state, and resorts and ranches in Durango in the far southwest corner of Colorado. He has sold 25 Colorado outfitting businesses and 5 Colorado wineries, and many ranches, farms, and country estates in Snowmass, Aspen, Carbondale, Willits, New Castle, Silt, Battlement Mesa, DeBeque, Palisade, Grand Junction, Meeker, Rangely, Paonia, Crawford, Hotchkiss, Cedaredge, Delta, Montrose, Ridgway, Telluride, and Durango. Gary also has expertise in commercial real estate, having sold grocery stores, restaurants, light industrial buildings, and investment properties. He has a construction background, having built several custom homes and managed development projects through the entitlement process. Gary is a proud member of the Realtors Land Institute, an association of ranch and land professionals administered by the National Association of Realtors. RLI acknowledges brokers that are especially proficient in land transactions with the Accredited Land Consultant designation, which is awarded only after extensive classroom study, demonstration of practical knowledge, a final exam, letters of recommendation by two other ALC's, and a documented portfolio of at least $10 million in land sales. Of the 50,000 real estate agents and brokers in Colorado, Gary Hubbell is one of only 45 Accredited Land Consultants. A native of western Colorado, Gary spent over two decades guiding Aspen-area clients on fly-fishing and hunting expeditions, upland bird hunts, waterfowl hunts, and horseback rides. His outfitting business, OutWest Guides, became famous in the Aspen area for providing 5-star experiences for discriminating clientele. At one point, Gary and his wife, Doris, maintained a herd of 45 diligent horses and mules. Gary Hubbell worked years as a professional writer, photographer, location scout, and producer for photo shoots and film productions. He has worked on marketing campaigns for Marlboro, Coors, Victoria’s Secret, Under Armour, Izod, Bushnell, ATK, Weaver rifle scopes, K2 skis, Remington, Ralph Lauren Chaps, Santa Cruz snowboards, Fenwick fly rods, Ford, Seiko, and many others. Gary has won 2 Colorado Press Awards, a Colorado Book Award, an American Horse Publications writing award, and 13 United Country Auction Services national marketing awards, as well as United Country's prestigious 2022 Genesis Award as the top marketer out of 515 offices. Gary has been at the forefront of drone property video production in Western Colorado, with his son Jake serving as drone pilot. Gary is a graduate of CU Boulder and is fluent in German. He is licensed in Utah and Colorado and he has sold over 150 properties at auction. Gary lives with his wife, Doris, on a 118-acre hay farm and horse ranch in Crawford, Colorado, where they raise hay, horses, and Labrador retrievers. He is an avid upland bird hunter, waterfowler, fly-fisherman, horseman, and skier. Their two sons are college graduates and working in engineering and real estate.
