Gabriel Kates

Gabriel has consistently ranked as one of the top agents focused on overseeing transactions throughout Brownstone Brooklyn, specifically the neighborhoods of Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Gowanus, Prospect Heights and Crown Heights. For many of his clients, he has guided their transition out of one asset into another while keeping tax exposure to an absolute minimum. He has a thorough understanding of start-to-finish deal execution, property valuation, the New York City housing regulation system, rent regulation law, 1031 Exchanges and alternative asset classes (such as triple-net-lease properties). He also has an in-depth, block-by-block knowledge of all the neighborhoods that comprise the Brownstone Brooklyn submarket. These tools allow Gabe to help his clients get the maximum potential income while holding their asset as well as value out of their asset when selling. In his first year, Gabe was named BRG’s Rookie of the Year. Since joining, he has handled the sale of over $100M worth of real estate. Gabe earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a concentration in real estate from the New York University Stern School of Business. When he is not in the office, he enjoys exploring the city, trying new restaurants, traveling and playing golf, basketball and squash. He currently resides in Union Square.
