Mr. Tropea is the founder and Managing Partner of Greenhill Partners-Real Estate Investment. As Managing Partner, Mr. Tropea oversees and directs all operations of the company. Greenhill Partners is a full service owner and operator of private off-campus student apartments. Not only does he run the company, but he also invests his personal equity in the real estate investments that Greenhill acquires. Prior to Greenhill Partners, Mr. Tropea assisted with the successful growth and development of GMH Associates, which became the largest private student and military housing company in the country. While at GMH for 17 years, Frank sourced institutional equity partners, directed the development and construction divisions, obtained financing, and oversaw the acquisitions, management, and operations as the President of GMH Capital Partners L.P. During this time GE Capital joint venture was formed, which he worked to establish. Shortly thereafter GMH Communities Trust, Inc. (NYSE:GCT) was established, a leading publicly-traded student housing REIT. Prior, Mr. Tropea was the procuring agent for over $1 billion dollars worth of financing for a variety of income producing properties. He has also sold institutional investment transactions valued in excess of $1.5 billion. Between 1980 and 1984 Mr. Tropea worked with Coldwell Banker, Commercial Real Estate Company (now CBRE- Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis) and was noted for being top salesman for two consecutive years. Mr. Tropea’s extensive background knowledge and experience contributes to his accomplished repertoire in the commercial real estate industry. Frank Tropea received his BA in Business Administration from the University of Houston, and served in the US Army Reserves from 1968 to 1974. Mr. Tropea currently holds Real Estate Broker licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.
