Mr. Chaplin founded Palmetto Commercial Real Estate in early 2001 after seventeen successful years in the commercial real estate field. Since the inception of his company, Palmetto Commercial Real Estate has become an industry leader among the commercial firms in North and South Carolina. Palmetto Commercial Real Estate is a full service brokerage firm specializing in office, retail, industrial, land and income properties. Mr. Chaplin began his real estate career in Charlotte, NC with the nation’s largest commercial real estate services company, CBRE. As a senior associate he specialized for eight years in large manufacturing and distribution facilities in both North and South Carolina. During his tenure with CBRE, Drew has been ranked in the top five industrial brokers in the Southeast, within CBRE. Mr. Chaplin, a Hartsville, South Carolina native and 1977 graduate of the University of South Carolina, has held regional sales positions with General Electric Power Systems and Siemens Energy and Automation prior to joining CBRE in 1985. With an emphasis on community involvement, Mr. Chaplin is a member of the Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church, former Advisory Board Member of the USC School of Hospitality and Retail Sales, Board Member of Florence County Progress Economic Development Partnership, Chairman of the Florence City Planning Commission, Chairman of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, member of The Salvation Army Advisory Board, member of The Kiwanis Club of Florence, Policy Committee Member and Study Team Member for the “Florence Area Transportation Study” (FLATS). He is a strong advocate for outdoor sports and recreation in the Pee Dee area of SC. Mr. Chaplin has triplets that have graduated from The Citadel, The College of Charleston, and Presbyterian College in South Carolina.
