Derek Flottum
As Senior Director of Development for the Phoenix VanTrust office, Derek Flottum is primarily responsible for the identification, evaluation, and execution of development and build-to-suit opportunities in VanTrust’s primary asset classes. Additional responsibilities include coordination with municipalities, leasing negotiations, and the management of architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors. Derek began his career in banking before transitioning into commercial real estate development. His resume includes office and industrial projects in the Phoenix market, most recently with The Opus Group. Derek has served on the Executive Board for NAIOP Arizona since 2018, and is a longtime member of the Scottsdale Charros, a nonprofit, all-volunteer civic group. Derek received his Bachelor of Business Administration-Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
