
Licensed in Georgia and South Carolina, Dent founded The Temples Company in 1992 and leads the firm with decades of experience in commercial real estate, distribution, and retail. He holds the prestigious designation of Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) and is actively involved in all aspects of the business — including site selection, sales and leasing, property management, and investment strategy. Under Dent’s leadership, The Temples Company operates in over 50 cities across three states each year, managing rent collection, property operations, and strategic growth initiatives. His deep industry knowledge and hands-on approach continue to drive the company’s success and reputation for excellence. Before founding The Temples Company, Dent served as Senior Vice President of Distribution and Real Estate for Piggly Wiggly Southern/Brunos, where he gained extensive experience in large-scale operations and real estate development. He has also held significant industry roles, including Chairman of Government Relations for the Food Marketing Institute and member of the Coca-Cola Research Council. Dent’s dedication extends beyond business into leadership and community service. He has served as President of the local Chamber of Commerce, member of the Georgia State Board of Education, Chairman of the Toombs County Development Authority, and member of a multi-county development authority. Additionally, he is a former Vice Chairman and Board Member of the Georgia State Chamber of Commerce and proudly served as a State Host for Georgia’s Red Carpet Tour, welcoming prospective employers to the state. An active member of Vidalia Cornerstone Church, Dent has served in numerous leadership roles within the congregation. In recognition of his contributions to business and community, he was honored as Vidalia’s Citizen of the Year in 1995. Dent holds an undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University and an MBA in Food Distribution from the University of Southern California.
