David Strauss
David Strauss, co-founder and CEO of Sand Asset Management, is a distinguished Real Estate professional with a comprehensive background in Acquisitions, Asset Management, Property management, and Finance. With over 15 years of specialized experience, particularly in residential multifamily assets, David has become an influential figure in the real estate investment and management sector, renowned for his innovative vision and strategic approach to property enhancement. At the heart of David's founding principles for Sand Asset Management was the ambition to offer an unmatched level of hands-on, compassionate management, treating each building with the dedication as if it were his own, coupled with delivering professional reporting to clients. David's involvement at Sand spans all operational aspects, with a keen focus on business operations, leadership, strategic partnerships, client reporting and an oversight of Operations. Before launching Sand, David served for six years as the Executive Vice President of a New York City-based real estate family office. In this role, he oversaw and ran the entire organization's operations, including the management and accounting team. He managed a substantial portfolio, comprising over 4,000 class A residential units and 300 commercial units, condominiums, shopping centers and office buildings across the United States, predominantly in New York. David's journey in real estate began at Heritage Realty, where he started as a property manager and ascended to Senior Portfolio Manager, directing acquisitions and asset management. His impact over nine years at Heritage Realty was significant, contributing to the acquisition, financing, management, and repositioning of over 75 properties valued at over $750 million across the Tri-State area. David's zeal for the real estate industry is longstanding, having owned and operated his own portfolio for more than 15 years, which commenced during his college years. Sand Asset Management oversees these assets as well. David maintains professional memberships with REBNY, CHIP, and holds a New York State Real Estate Salesperson license. He resides in New York City, where he continues to apply his extensive expertise to the growth and success of Sand Asset Management and its clients.
