David Rock

David specializes in retail, restaurant and office tenant representation, and in lease consulting. He has executed rollout strategies and site negotiations for regional and national restaurant chains, such as Armadillo Willy's, Straw Hat Pizza and The Melting Pot. David works with Brian on the Specialty's Cafe & Bakery expansion throughout the West Coast, and is also currently the master broker for both Straw Hat Pizza and Rita's Italian Ices, who are each in the midst of a national expansion. He has also done store leasing throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area for retailers such as Border's Books, as well as Landlord representation and leasing in numerous sites from San Jose through the Peninsula. Earlier in his business career, David co-owned and operated Midwest Natural Foods Distributors, the nation's then sixth largest health food distributor, and then "And Chili's" a Bay area 7-unit restaurant chain. He was also one of Webvan's first employees, and was responsible for all real estate activities, and all major contract negotiations, including all capital assets and purchased computer software, and he was also instrumentally involved in the initial development of the delivery system. Under David's direction as VP of Development, David's team leased 4.5 million square feet of real estate throughout the U.S., executing 110 warehouse and office leases. He also spent 11 years as a Board Member of the Diamond Phoenix Company, an automated material handling and logistics systems company. For the past 18 years, David has been on the Board of Directors of Los Altos/ Los Altos Hills Little League, including serving three years as its President. David attended the University of Michigan where he majored in English and Pre-Med.
