Dan Hawkins

With more than 15 years of experience in the real estate industry, Dan currently serves as a Managing Director on Berkadia’s Hotels and Hospitality platform. In this role, Dan leverages his prior experience working in both hotel operations and within corporate lodging ownership to serve his client’s needs through this unique perspective in the hotel investment sales and mortgage banking space. Throughout his career in brokerage, he has worked on nearly $2 billion in hotel transactions spanning nearly all top 25 markets across the country and dozens of secondary and tertiary markets in between. Dan’s clients range from local and regional owner/operators to larger owner/operators with a national footprint, REITs and institutional owners. His primary sales experience ranges from upper-upscale select service hotels to large full service and resort style hotels. Having been in the real estate industry through several business cycles, Dan is proficient in identifying the advantages and disadvantages of different market types. Prior to joining Berkadia, Dan worked in the Washington, DC office of CBRE and, prior to that, The Donohoe Companies specializing in hotels and hospitality at both companies. Dan attended the University of Maryland at College Park and is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Master’s of Hospitality Management program where he specialized in development and asset management.
