
Clayton Brown is the founder of Brown Retail Group, Marcus & Millichap’s (NYSE: MMI) premier retail investment sales team in the Pacific Northwest. In 2021 and 2022, Clayton received Marcus & Millichap's Chairman's Club Circle of Excellence award, only awarded to the firm's top producing agents. In 2020 and 2022, Clayton was the #1 overall top producing agent in Marcus & Millichap’s Seattle office and has been the #1 top producing retail agent in the Pacific Northwest for the firm for the past 4 years. Since the start of 2020, Clayton has personally closed a total of 89 investment sales transactions totaling over $350MM in transaction volume with six separate pricing records. Brown Retail Group specializes in investment sales and financing of single-tenant net-leased properties, shopping centers and higher and better use sites in the Pacific Northwest as well as nationally. As Managing Partner of Brown Retail Group, Clayton is responsible for all key business decisions and overall leadership, mentoring and oversight of the team’s day to day operations. Brown Retail Group is currently comprised of 13 full-time team members including brokers and staff. In Clayton’s first year with the firm, Clayton received Marcus & Millichap’s Rookie of the Year award and has since went on to become a top producing retail investment sales agent in the western United States. Clay's current client base includes publicly traded institutions, corporations, private equity firms, franchisees, merchant developers and private investors. Clay attended Campbell University on a baseball scholarship where he posted a Division 1 second best batting average (.427) in his Junior year. In his personal time, Clay is an avid reader and enjoys traveling, skiing, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his friends and family.
