Chip Schell
Jerry “Chip” Schell is Vice President of New Business at Core Spaces. He is responsible for overseeing the staffing, leasing, marketing, and successful opening of new developments, as well as overseeing the transition and renovation of new acquisitions. Chip has spent his entire 35+ year career in property management, working in all facets of conventional multifamily and student housing, but with broad experience in commercial and mixed-use properties as well. The last 17 of those years were spent in the executive management of student housing at two of the largest student housing management companies in the US. Prior to joining Core Spaces, Chip oversaw portfolios of both owned and third-party managed assets in over fifty markets nationwide. He has been involved with many new construction projects across the country and dozens more new acquisitions. Chip recognizes the crucial role that strong site teams play in the success of properties and has enhanced both property and company successes through development and support of strong teams, implementation of policies and standard operating procedures, and recognition and development of top talent. Chip holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as an active Texas Real Estate Broker's License. He has served on committees and boards of the Austin Apartment Association and BOMA Austin.
