Charlie Adams

Charlie Adams is the President and Owner of the Stratford Group. Mr. Adams began his career in 1977 at Hank Dickerson and Company where he worked in the land division. While at Hank Dickerson, Mr. Adams honed the skill of focusing in one area with the goal of being the most knowledgeable land broker in a given geographic area, and was the first to put together an ownership aerial. In 1978 Mr. Adams started working the North Dallas area and for the last three decades this has become his specialty. Working closely with Terry Gwin, the two became the leading salesmen at the firm. In 1979, both left Hank Dickerson and formed a new company, Gwin-Adams and Associates. The focus at Gwin-Adams continued to be land sales. Seven associates joined the firm, each being assigned a specific geographic area in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex with the goal of becoming the “best land broker” in that area. The company brokered over $300,000,000 in land sales from 1979-1981. In 1981 Mr. Adams formed Charlie Adams Company. Over the period from 1981 to 1985 the firm grew to include over twenty land brokers, each specializing in a specific geographic area of the Metroplex. Charlie Adams Company brokered over $700,000,000 of land during this period. The leading salesman at the company was Phillip Wiggins, and in 1985 Mr. Adams and Mr. Wiggins became partners and changed the name of the firm to The Stratford Group.
