In 1975 Cathy left her career as an elementary school teacher and became licensed as a New Jersey real estate agent. She joined the team at Van Hise Realty on Route 31 in Pennington and had great mentors. Four years later she took the courses required to become a Real Estate Broker. When Earl Van Hise retired in 1982, She joined Peyton Associates on South Main Street in Pennington where she had over twenty successful years listing and selling real estate in Hopewell Valley and surrounding communities. NJAR awarded me a Lifetime Membership in the Distinguished Sales Club; recognition of achieving the real estate Million Dollar Sales Club award for ten or more years. When Tod Peyton closed the doors of Peyton Associates, Henderson Sotheby's International Real Estate acquired the office on South Main Street where she had worked for twenty-four years. She felt fortunate to become part of a well-established company led by its younger generation with visions for the future of this industry. She is delighted that this vision has led to the merger of two strong Princeton companies with wonderful reputations, N T Callaway and Henderson. It is a privilege to be part of the Pennington office of Callaway Henderson Sotheby's International Realty. She cannot imagine a business that allows one to make more friends and meet many wonderful people. Realtors are definitely people serving people in many selfless ways. She feels very blessed to have these great coworkers and friends for several decades. As for her personal life, she has a son, Tim, who is the School Resource Officer at Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington. He is also enjoying his second term as Mayor of Stockton Borough. Her daughter-in-law, Cathleen, is a wonderful mother of their three children and her grandchildren, Molly, Charlie and Olivia. Cathleen has a real estate license and is always willing to help her. In spite of this difficult year, she has been successful helping many people sell and buy a home.
