Brian Merz

As the Director of Leasing at HJ Development, Brian specializes in identifying tenants for all properties within the HJ Development portfolio. Brian's ability to understand client needs, his knowledge of the Minneapolis/St. Paul market and vast industry experience serve him well in this capacity. Prior to joining HJ Development, Brian worked for Upland Real Estate Group where he specialized in Landlord Representation and completed over 1-million square feet of retail lease and sales transactions. Brian is a graduate of the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Brian maintains an active role in the real estate community and is a member of numerous industry organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Minneapolis/St. Paul Area Board of Realtors (MAR), Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) and Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA). Brian resides in Spring Park, Minnesota with his wife Katie and their children, Avery, Owen and Taylor. Outside of the office Brian enjoys golfing, boating and playing hockey.
