With over 20 years of experience rooted in the oil and farm fields of Saskatchewan and Alberta, Brett Murrell brings a practical, hands-on work ethic that defines his approach to real estate. His background spans from building new homes to managing full renovation projects — giving his clients a true advantage when buying or selling. Brett’s decision to become a Realtor came after a few less-than-stellar experiences of his own when he needed real estate guidance. Rather than accepting “good enough,” he chose to leave a long and successful career in oil and gas to raise the bar, determined to make real estate just a little bit better than he felt it was. Known for his honesty, loyalty, and deep technical knowledge of a home’s systems from top to bottom including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building envelopes! Brett provides every client with confidence and clarity through one of life’s biggest decisions. Beyond real estate, Brett is a passionate supporter of his community. He’s a long-time sponsor of the Okotoks Dawgs, Okotoks Oilers Jr. & other Oilers teams, the Okotoks United Soccer Club, and even stepped up to help the Okotoks Cinema when they needed new seating. He’s also supported several local crowdfunding efforts for businesses such as Hubtown Brewing, Covet Sips & Sweets, and many others, always eager to see local entrepreneurs succeed. In 2019, Brett purchased the CIR REALTY Okotoks Satellite Office, which at the time had just 17 agents in a leased space off the beaten path. In 2023, he decided that a new location was what was needed and took a leap of faith and bought a residential home on Railway Street in the heart of Okotoks. He jumped in with both feet, literally, doing a FULL RENO from top to bottom of this 1950’s home bringing this old space into one of the more recognized offices in our Downtown core. His commitment to constant improvement shone through in this project along with anything he seems to work on, if it’s not good enough for him, it’s not good enough for anyone. Under his leadership, that number has grown to 53 agents and counting as of October 2025 - a reflection of his mentorship, community focus, and commitment to excellence. When he’s not working, Brett is a devoted family man who loves relaxing at the lake, spending time with his loved ones or local sports.
