A real estate attorney specializing in shopping center development, Brett Foy joined Zelman Development Co. in 1994 as vice president, general counsel and partner. Prior to joining The Zelman Development Co., Foy served as Vice President and General Counsel to the premier Las Vegas based shopping center developer, Laurich Properties, for four years. From 1987 until 1990, Foy was an associate with the law firm of Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble and Mallory a leading Los Angeles based real estate law firm. Mr. Foy has primarily responsible for joint venture structuring, entitlements, and retail project management, and Business Development. He is also responsible for leasing all Zelman retail projects. Foy has played a major role in establishing Zelman as a leader in shopping center development. Since his arrival at Zelman in 1994, Zelman has dramatically expanded its shopping center portfolio, completing or commencing the development of over 3,000,000 square feet of retail projects. Foy received a bachelors degrees in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University in 1984 and received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 1987. Foy is a member of the California Bar Association, as well as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, where he has served as a panelist on several occasions.
